Now that is a novel idea how to combine technologies to create a product that’s much more than the sum of its parts, a technology mashup if you will: the eye-Phone (okay, they still need to work on the name). Combining GPS, image recoginition, and the Internet, Ernst Pechtl and Hans Geiger of SuperWise Technologies AG, Germany, created software that allows you to point the camera of your GPS-enabled mobile phone at any landmark and ask for information on it. Is this the future of tourist information systems?
